Thumbs down Oh Oh! Clunk! Help!

After the service writers didn't know what a Lightning was as I described the clunk and what had to be done to the front end, I decided to talk to the service manager. His first question was "What is a Lightning?"

This is at an SVT dealer and he was there when I bought my truck!

I have all of the references from the board which I will take with me for my appointment next Friday. Has anyone any numbers to call at SVE or SVT or specific references or persons within the Ford company that I can use to educate this guy?

Otherwise, I'm afraid that I'm doomed!

Thanks,

adp

adp,
Maybe you should wait to take in your L after we complete the trip. Heck that would be the pits if there tore it down and then had the truch laid up and then when you call to check status they may say "Whats a Lightning?"

Hey, Egghead lied to me. Today I received an email indicating that my shipment went out yesterday (second day air). I get home today and the flashcard is on my doorstep. It should not have been here till tomorrow. Seriously, thanks for the info on the card. I've already installed and formatted it, and in the 640X480 mode in fine compression, I have enough memory for 771 pics. That should be enough for our trip.

Peter,

I'm taking my truck in next Friday. I won't let them touch it unless they know what they are doing. (I don't have a lot of confidence in them.) I won't miss the trip!

adp: If you crawl under the truck behind the lower ball joint you'll see something that looks like a uranium pellet(at least on the '99L's, my fathers '00 4x4's was wedge shaped) that when the wheel turns hits it to stop. There is one on both sides. Put a gob of grease between it and the wheel where it strikes. That stops the clunking sometimes. The other "clunking" post on the board also is part of the problem.
