Im looking to run my the race program on my chip for the first time this Friday and I havent ever ran race fuel. How much should I mix with my 93 octane. Someone told me 5 gallons of race (which is 108 octane at our 76 station) with a full tank of 93. Is that about right?

I would go with straight 108 octane.

For every gallon of 93 ocane in your tank, just add 1/2 gallon of the 108. You should be very, very safe because 17* isn't very much timing at all. Many people have their race tune set at 20* or 21*. I'm running 91 octane with 16* myself.

 

You should talk to your tuner----I would drain my tank and then add straight 108--no less than 10 gallons and no more than 12 gallons when you start racing.----the weight of too much gas will slow you down.

 

Ask your tuner what he feels is safe. I personally drain my tank completely and run 15 gallons of race fuel. -Mat-

 

hahaha I just add 3-5 gallons of 104 to a quarter tank of gas on my race tune (23* timing) and run regular 93 on my street and that has 19* timing. I have never had any pinging with using 93 octane on 19* timing. But definitely would ask your tuner first.
