Short Block v Long Block?

Would some mind informing the ignorant (me) what the difference between the two are, besides a whole lot of change? What the pros and cons are? And if one is a better option than the other for someone (me again) wanting to get into the 11s on a daily driver? Grazie!

Longblock is basically a shortblock with a pair of heads bolted on.

The longblock includes; a shortblock, 2 assembled heads, head gaskets, head studs/bolts, and possibly cams/lifters/followers.

I would think it would be worth your while to do it all at once (long block), to save some money in the long run. Also, since we have recently been educated on our weak azz valve springs, its even more reason to atleast freshen up your heads....and at that point might as well port'em, and might as well do cams, and might as well.....well you get the idea!
