Who has a JLP block

Was wondering how much power your throwing at it and how do you like it? Any problems at all? I dont want to start a war but is a JLP block and a JDM block equally as strong? Thanks

good question

a friend of mine was just pricing blocks. JDM's block was about 1000 more than JLP's I think. I don't know what the difference is. Maybe both vendors can porst what is in their blocks exactly and what we are getting.

I think JDM lowered their price down to 3699 (not updated on the website.) JLP's regular price is 3399(used to be 3600)

Hopefully JDM will chime in to confirm the price. It would also be nice to see a civil debate why one is better than the other.

Our blocks are Brand NEW NVH 5.4 ford blocks. Assembled with Brand NEW Steel forged Crankshafts, manley H beam 4340 rods with arp2000 rod bolts, manley pistons @ std bore, Arp mainstuds, new bearings, rings, and oil pump, Fully blue printed and balanced! We use new NVH blocks because they are thicker and ultimatley stronger than stock or "seasoned" blocks. We also use new blocks so they dont have to be bored over. The more meat you take out of the cylinder wall the more prone you are to distortion and cracking the wall under detonation. Our blocks are now priced at $3995, we had a christmas special for $3695 but for anyone who calls and mentions F150online they are still $3695. Oh and we have 9 on the shelf and more comming with our new Engine Clean room almost finished up.

Plan on it.

It be nice to have you bring one of those motors down for me. Need to come up with some funds real quick. If I can't get it by Atlanta, maybe next time you come to Charleston you can throw one in the back of the truck. I'll call you soon to talk a little.

We just sent Whip back down to Charleston he just picked up his truck which got a JDM longblock should be tearing up the streets of Charleston for a few more weeks down there. FFW Atl is a blast you'll love it. Give me a call at the shop sometime if you want to chat about the Shortblock!

I have a JDM short block under my hood right now. Nothing at all against JL, he is the man. I just like the fact that JDM uses new NVH blocks. That way you can still bore it over if something happens and the cylinder walls get damaged.

What is NVH?? Why would you want to use something that isn't squared to a machinist's skill?? I wouldn't trust any of the big manufacturer's labor's boring opposed to a skilled machinist!
Just my .02,

It's not a 1000 dollar difference. The price on the JDM website is old .

I just like the fact that JDM uses new NVH blocks.

There seems to be alot of Misleading info. Going around from 1 of my competitors. They are telling everyone that JLP Uses USED PARTS/BLOCKS/and CHEAP CRANKS! Thats why his prices are Dirt Cheap! JLP Has NEVER had 1 Block experience Cracked Cylinder walls or distortion..Unlike those who claim our JLP Engines are and i'll Quote " JUNK!"..Thats right not 1 has ever had those issues! JLP uses (seasoned blocks) as well as NEW NHV Blocks and NEW Forged Cranks![/B] We offer the customer the choice of the 2! There are some including myself who perfer a Seasoned Block! Because that Block has already been thru the heat cycles which will cut down on block distortion and flex as it goes thru the heat cycles! Remember a Brand New Block has not yet been thru those cycles..Is a New block better than a Seasoned block? Well thats up to the customer to decide! JLP At all times have atleast 6 Engines in stock! ready for Shipment within 24 hrs! We offer the customer his/her choice of manely H-beams or I-Beams thier choice. Our Standard SB comes with Manley H-beams and upgraded arp fastners our JLP spec Pistons.Rings ect.Can handle upwards of 900hp! The most important Thing we offer to the customer is a Near PERECT Blue printed and Balanced Engine .0 - .5 grams! JLP is the ONLY Vendor that uses the HINES Balance Machine Which is a very important Factor in a High HorsePower Engine! Also its a very expensive process which JLP Goes the extra mile to produce hands down the BEST SB in the Lightning Comunity! And yet for a Lower Price! So Just to clear things up and put the Truth/Facts out there! JLP Does not use Cheap USED Parts! Regardless of what some are being told! We offer Both Seasoned or New NHV blocks Your choice! Also JLP will NEVER Use a Brand new NHV Block with out boreing them .020 over you may ask why..Just check out the bore on some of those new NHV Blocks and you'll see why The Factory Bored Block dosn't even come close to what we @ JLP would count as exceptable!..We Bore/honeEach Block making sure each one is EXACTLY what we were looking for!..JLP SB is $3,399.99 in stock ready to go! JL
