is a 1999 lightning's rear end an 8.8 31 spline?? is this end similar to a 4.2 v6 or 5.4 v8 f150??

 

Nosir, the rear in the L is an 9.75" unit, also used in the Expy and the Excursion. If you're thinking of new gears, they can be had via special order on the 2K's or for $180.00 from Ford Motorsport. I have recently installed the 3.73 gear and I've heard that 4.10's are available.
