Bad K&N Filter?
I bought a replacement K&N Filter for my '99L and installed it today, took it out for a brief test drive, everything seemed fine.
Later in the afternoon headed down the hill to work and when I went to give it some gas at the end of the hill the engine started to rough idle and eventually stalled. Could not get it started again, wouldn't even idle.
So, I took the K&N off and limped home without a filter (only 2 blocks) but it started without... Put the old Ford Filter back in and it works fine.
Any suggestions? Or do I have a bad filter or something? Seems really strange to me.

Make sure your maf connector and OAT sensor are properly connected (maf connector is on the inlet tube and the AOT sensor connects to your airbox). You can run with out either of these connected, not very good, but it will run. Also check your clamps on the inlet tube. I found both of mine loose when I put my K&N in.
