Thumbs down flowmasters

I had them installed about a week after I recieved my L. they have a great sound but I believe I lost low end torque. I had two 2 chambers put on with an X pipe. Has anyone done this and seen this? I just believe this happened because I only drove this L for a week. I an thinking of putting a diff. Cat back on, but want to keep the sound. Can anyone recommend an exhaust, and how much is this going to cost me? I an taking the L to the Dino within the next week. I will post results, wish i would of done before and after w/ the flows.
Thanks for the info

Hurry and do your dyno test. I'm curious as to what the Flows will really do and where the RPM range went to. There is no doubt that torque will be higher up in the rpm range.

Don't knock the "flows" they sound wonderful and do make power. Probably one of the best race mufflers on the market.

if you did as i did and removed the converters you will notice some loss at low rpm.but the top end more than makes up for it.i used the 70 series so it wouldnt be so loud and love the sound and power.without the converters it probably would pick up the low end if you ran smaller pipe but naturally you loose the top end power.

Cool

Hey jarmstro
I'm not really tring to knock the flows. It's just I can't tell if I lost any torque. I know I gained upper end horse.
Anyway I go Sat. at 12:00 to get the L Dynoed so I will post the results. I wish I had a scanner.
Need more $$$$$$$.

Cool

Had an H pipe built since and X would be too long and put on the Delta Flow 50s. Love it and did not loose anything. Took a 682 mile trip to Columbus Ohio from here and the Deltas never were resonating in the cab. Admitt I did not get into the throttle much due to traffic, but held 77mph on cruise control. Good sound and averaged 16.8 mpg up and back. Needless to say I like the Delta 50s.... not too loud for this old fart, but enough at idle and great at WOT.

Question

Does anyone with Flowmasters have any pix of the install? Am being told that the Flowmasters will hang down too low. Thanks.

Wink

no they won't.
I had mine installed w/ an X pipe right after the cats then 2 2 chambers, side by side, mounted on the sides. just like the pics at zing.com
like the other duel muffs
I even had them pull the exhaust tips up so they would fit in the cut out better, they were hanging down to low
o'ya I would post a pic but I don't have a scanner sorry
