The other night a friend and I went driving his 99 L and hit a long straight away and hit 145 at least it took a second for the speedo to come down to 140 it was awsome. Ive drivin in fast cars I have a 500plus HP mustang but I put $1000 down on a 2000 L the next day. First time on F150 online. Thanks

OK, first I need to say this, I'm not posting this to be mean ,and if I offend anyone I'm sorry, but, I see posts of you people going in excess of the speed limit and talking the talk but no one is walking the walk.I just did Big Bend radar speed 147 and average 118 in the 120 class, And I want a few good and half way insane drivers to put a team together for the Silver State and or a go showing at the Pony Express events, its not cheap and its dangerous [ 1 driver was killed at Big Bend ] so no wimps apply. If interested Email me Ruslow@yahoo.com thanks

Wink

While I havent had the luxury of radar-testing my top speeds, I can certify that they are WELL over 145 and probably closer to 155. Please let me know when and where the two events you mention will be held.

If drivers haven't been to some type of high performance driving school, they should really not enter events like Silver State, or One Lap (requires two or more driving schools), or Pony Express. etc. It will keep them safer as well as the event. There really is a lot to learn and the risks at 100 + speeds are significant without quality safety equipment, tire pressures, and experience etc. I agree with the "walk the walk" comment -- many of the so-called "kills" described on this board depict questionable behavior on crowded public roads. If you want to impress yourself or others, do it in a controlled environment or under reasonable street conditions. Nuff preaching, have fun.

Having a place to do 100+ safely would always be nice...

I've had my truck up over 100 already...5-lane highway with minimal traffic.

Thumbs up

I fully agree, Ive been road racing for 10 yrs and all of that was done in hi hp vehicles with short wheel bases and lightweight. The Big Bend and Silver State for example do require safty equipment ie roll bars and nomex suit and gloves with a SA95 helment and the proper tire for the speeds 150 tech speeds and above. Anyone can push their vehicle to the max for short distances but how about 60 to 120 miles and do it in a specific time? Like I said this is NOT for wimps it is exspensive, safty equip for the body is around 1000.00 and you DON'T buy cheap stuff unless you think your life is worthless then we don't want you there anyway. So if anyone is still interested email to Ruslow@Yahoo.com so we can get a team together. Both the events that I plan to particpate in are in Nevada.hope to hear from some of you.
