I just regestered (877-868-8206) and a lot of things are already filled. The two tours I wanted, Romeo Engine and Wayne Assembly, are booked. All I could get was Dearborn (Rouge).

I'm staying at home, how about you babolt?
I'm about 7 miles away. Hah...
Lots of hotels in the area, nice ones are Hyatt (sp?) and the dearborn inn is beautiful and acrossed the road ($$).
There is a nearby holiday inn too.

Question

Does anyone have any info on the SVT Experience in the Houston area? Who is sponsoring it? Dates? Need to see if my dealer in Austin can get me signed up. Thanks.

McCree Ford and BayArea Ford(owned by McCree) is sponsoring the SVT Experience in Houston, however I received a letter later on after I recieved my invite(I have bought 3 SVT vehicles from McCree) and it was postponed and SVT/McCree did not have a new date.

What was interesting about this "only" those who bought their SVT, Cobra, Lightning or Contour from McCree or BayArea Ford could attend. This caused a big ruckus on the Contour Board and I think a bunch of people complained in such a way that SVT deceided to cancel the event and rethink things out.

I have not heard any more about the event.

Question

I'm not sure how many of you have done this event before, but the Cobra guys are apalled by the fee's,they claim it has never been this exspensive and Ford/Svt had never charged for the road and drag courses before. Many of them are not attending because of this.Being a newbie I wanted to attend but after totaling the fee/course/hotel and fuel to make the trip I'll be sitting this out.Oh well, maybe next year

Hmm, I've owned my L since Oct 93 and this is the first event I've been invited to. I guess that the other events were cobra only deals? Will try for next year

I think $150 is a lot of money to spend to hang around at Ford. I'm used to getting paid for doing that.

The racing parts would be fun, but my take was that you had to register for the other stuff, too. I'm going to spend the money on my chip and filter.
