New headers

I'm thinking about getting some new headers here pretty soon and was wondering if you guys knew what the best California leagal ones for the set up I have now are.

2001 Lightning
AEM Brute Force Intake
Borla Cat Back
Hypertech Chip
Small Pully 12Lbs. boost

Thanks,
Jon

From what I have read on these boards you can not modify your exhaust in Cali....They are very strict on emmissions....

I believe there are NO legal headers for California. Bassani would be the most likely and their website says: "Legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway". I suggest you call them. (866) 782-3283

JBA makes a pair that are CARB certified, I have never had any of their products though and don't know how good they are. Any input on that company?

do not how hard they are to put on,just ordered this morning but i read that if you remove front tires and take out inner fender you can get to them pretty well.the egr tube goes from the header to the egr valve"on the blower"the one that comes with the headers needs to be extended a few inches.check them out at "summitracing, com" part number edl-65632.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news dude but it doesn't look like those fit the lightning to me man. I looked up that part number and this is what I found on the site "Application Notes Fits vehicles with EGR. Will not fit with air ride suspensions. Will not fit SVT, Lightning, and Harley Davidson models. " You maight look into that man. JBA does make a Lightning friendly pair of headers though.

even at that they're only shorties, not gonna give you any more sound, and may only give you slight power change. Prob not enough to feel. Long tubes are the way to go but in Cali you guys cant use them.

The only reason you don't see measurable gains from shorties is that you still have the restrictive cats. You should get a good gain with shorties and mid pipes w/ high flow cats. Using long tubes eliminates them and the cats are replaced with high flows.
