Cat Delete
Cat Delete
Ok so my friends and I got to talking and decided it would be fun to make a cat delete system for a 2001 Lightning "for the strip, on a truck with more the 50,000/mi". I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a company that makes one and if so what the results were when installed. It would have to be something that was flanged so it would easy to change back to stock. Also if anyone wanted to lay down some pro's and con's of running no cats on a 450+hp lighting that would be much appreciated.

Just take the stockers off and have a muffler shop duplicate them in 2-1/2" pipe. They're do the work, but usually not on the vehicle.

Weld some ball and socket connectors (Summit sells a header collector ball flange kit as part #FLO-15924, as an example) between the pipe and the mufflers. Do the same on the normal catted mids and then it becomes a bolt in choice. Two bolts at each manifold, two bolts for each pipe, one hnager bolt at the crossmember, plus two O2 sensors. You'll need to turn off the rear O2s or live with the codes.

The aluminumed areas are the cats. In your application these would be replaced with straight pipe.
