Blue Lightning???
My grandchildren were talking endlessly about this when I picked them up yesterday, but I figured they were looking at a Roush critter or something else. Anyway we drove down to North County Ford in Vista, Ca. to have a look and no s***, there is such a Lightning there. It is a black '99 that has been repainted in front with ghastly retro flames in iridescent metallic blue. The flames curl back to the doors and to the windshield. The paint job includes angular red and blue pinstriping on the remaining black. The truck has some sort of aftermarket billet grills that don't appear to pass much air.
How in the whole world of sensibility could anyone do that to an L? I felt like shooting it to put it out of it's misery.

I saw an 'arrest me' red '99.5 Lighting at Summit Racing outside Canton, OH last fall with a nice flame job. I think he was looking for trouble. Looked good, but I wouldn't do it to mine.
Speaking of tacky looking Lightings, last year I saw two red ones that had:
Truck one: Some kind of big logo or business sign on the door and what looked like about a six foot high or more whip antenna.
Truck two: Park outside a Brazilian food market. Talk to driver who tried to pass it off as 2000 Lightning. Missing Ford oval on grill, had painted red the black plastic surface of the side mirrors, and had tinted the back window.
