Floyd, a couple of people have mentioned the possibility of traffic school. If it is available in Oregon I would definitely recommend it, since your insurance company will not find out about it, and you will not accrue any points on your record. I think you should look into it.

I think I will look into both ways, I am not so sure traffic school is offered here?? leads to be seen

Definitely go to court, and if the officer isn't there, plead not guilty and make a motion to dismiss for failure to prosecute. I've done this twice and won both times. If the officer is there, get a continuance, and try it the second time, and only then should you beg for mercy or take the traffic school option if it's avaiable to you(it's not in Ohio).
