Post Lightning Bug Deflectors

I have been debating with myself about putting a bug deflector on my Lightning. Has anyone put a bug deflector on their Lightning? Color matched or smoke? Any pictures?

Thanks,

Strohm

I have a BUGFLECTORII. It's clear and painted on the backside at the factory to match the color of your truck exactly. You need to tell them the paint code off your plate. It's the first one I have had; however all the paint on my last L's hood was chipped and eaten away with rocks and bugs. My truck is red and this thing is almost invisable. Looks great. Went through the car wash the other day and didn't break. I love it. I got mine from HAILE, ROBERT

Bob's price was also better than I found elsewhere! Tell him I said hello. I got the GTS headlight covers (smoked) which really look great on my red truck, but you have to take them off at nite as you can't see caca. Also, I think they are illegal at night, but it's not a problem as they deinstall and install in about 5 seconds each way. You need fog lamp covers too. The ones on the truck are very fragile and break easily.
send me your email address and I'll send you pics. I haven't spent enough time to figure out how to post pics yet. Maybe now that the taxes are done.

I had a Lund interceptor on mine and had to remove it because it looked like it was going to yank the hood open at speeds of 85 and up. ..

I put a Prime Designs bug deflector on mine. Bought clear and had the back painted to match the truck. I hated the idea, since I've never liked how they look, but I really needed it to protect from stone chips. It's really not bad, and being color matched, is hardly noticeable. I don't have a scanner, so no way to post pics, but if you look back a few weeks Sixpipes posted some pics from Texas Motorplex, and the bug deflector is on my truck.

Noelvm has a bug deflector on his truck. Also can get you a picture. I used the Lund Shadow Cowl guard at the winshield to protect the glass. Best bug deflector is 140 MPH force field formed by the wind, gets them bugs everytime.

This is the one I got from the Ford dealer when I bought my Beast. It is a dark smoke tint and it blends into the black pretty well, I think.

Hey Wyldman,

Does the Ford bug deflector screw into the hood or does it get held on by velcro? I can't tell by the pic, but on the passenger side of the bug shield, does it say SVT?

Well, I know I'm really dumb, it took me five hours to figure out how WYLDMAN got the pictures of his truck to open in his message, but I figured it out, so its worth a trip to the top for you all to see!!!!!!

now for a good compression utility that doesn't reduce the quality and allows for quick loading. Any suggestions????

99 SVT Bolt,

2 screws into aluminum brackets that fit inside the hood openings underneath. Loosen the screws, turn the akuminum piece to line up with the hole and it comes right off, takes about 2 minutes.

Thanks for the info Wyldman. One more question. Is there enough space between the shield and hood to clean easily?

Thanks

Hey PAWN: If you man the link to 4X4 Cyberstore I just tried it and it works great. What browser are you using, although that shouldn't make any difference? I'm using Explorer 5.0. If it still doesn't work when you click on it,try coping and pasting in address area above and then hit go.
