Wink DUCK01 and MRBBQMAN, read within....

I agree with you DUCK01 about the Dodge truck. He seems to have a "little" done to it. I hope he could hook on those tires with that light rear end, but I'm sure he'd put up some good numbers. As far as a WS6 against my TA (which is what a WS6 is with a few more factory mods), I WAX them every weekend and at the track. I have yet to be beat by a WS6 anywhere. And my car has a bone stock motor and no power adder (ie., supercharger). So, like 99Hugger said, it's all in good fun. I see my mistake about the Dodge (GREAT sleeper MRBBQMAN ), but you, Pacecar18, can't you come up with something more mature than "Mr Jack Off". We're talking auto's here, not Junior High perverse cut-downs. Let me know when you grow up and get a pair (*****).

Hey Jax, some nice toys yourself. as you mentioned, traction is a major problem off the line because i still use it as work truck. but still a best of 12.88@108 on street tires (yokos). can't really hammer it til 1/8mi to get traction. i going to slap some slicks on it this summer and see if i can get thrown out of baton rouge or gulfport dragstrip.

Jax-
When you get a minute or two, go back and re-read the thread (especially my three posts within). Afterwards, feel free to come back and apologize to me. Then maybe you can do me one last favor and explain to me what getting a set (*****) has anything to do with any of my messages (or was that just your version of a "Junior High perverse cut-down"?). Thanks in advance.

Jeez, I hope this one doesn't get shut down too. I am enjoying the passion that Lightnings seem to ignite. Sort of like Wyldman and MrBBQMAN, I own/have owned other earlier vehicles that would beat my Lightning but they were far from factory stock and were cars not trucks. In fact, in the '50s, '60s and '70s I can't recall a truck anywhere near stock that even presumed to be in the same league as a car.
I would guess the Cyclone/Typhoon were the first real performance trucks that got everyone's attention along with the Buick GNX with more or less the same motor.
On a personal level, I am now getting used to some pretty graunchy posts by non Lightning owners vis a vis how fast this truck may be.

In my personal experience, I lose more than I win by a large margin on the street, but that may be because I choose the wrong dance partner. As posted earlier, I lose to 12 cyl Benzes and Bimmers and the occasional well driven Mustang GT (with mods, but so is mine modded). F body types here in Atlanta just don't seem to want to run a Lightning, at least on the street where they have a choice.

As a side note, Duck01, if you want a trip down memory lane, check out the Corps of Cadets Hall of Fame, or is it Hall of Honor, and look for a plaque depicting Raymond L. Murray, Class of '35. That's my old man, an Aggie graduate and life long supporter.

Howdy Bill! Good to see Aggies (or close relatives of them) here on the board. I'm glad that your father appreciated what A&M did for him enough to give back to the school that I love so much. A&M thanks him, the Corps of Cadets thanks him, and I thank him. I'll have to go check out his plaque sometime.

Noel-
You need to put one more Aggie (or Aggie supporter) on your list. I'm telling ya man, we are everywhere!

No response yet? Oh well, he'll get curious sooner or later and stop back by. As for now, back to the top!

OK DUCK01, I was big enough to come back and make my apologies to MRBBQMAN. Now you insist on going back and forth with this issue. Well, there is no issue. THE FACTS: I have won 2 Lightning races in My TA. I run high 12's. The Lightnings at Gainesville Raceway run high 13's consistently (I've seen two now run multiple times). I think the Lightnings are impressive for a truck, but no match for MY F-body. Maybe you've beat others, but all drivers are different. Any other quarrels can be settled on the street or strip.

Hey Jax!

Go back and read the damn post! Duck didn't call you "Mr. Jack Off"! You DEFINITELY owe him an apology!

Also, we have not been claiming consistent 1/4 mile wins between an L and a LS1. We have been claiming STREET race victories for the L. The extra weight/horsepower/lower gear ratio's on our trucks allow a quicker launch. Most traffic light races do not get into the higher speeds which the L would lose due to aerodynamics.

CALM DOWN and respond to the discussion at hand, rather than fabricating a new argument that no one else cares about.

Gosh this is some silly stuff.

"Such and such is no match for 'my' car." Who cares? This all started about one L owner who won a couple of street encounters. Then some people from another board jump the guy!

If I replied to every message on these BBS's that discuss "my <whatever> beat a blown 5.0 Mustang today", then I'd have made a jillion posts by now b/c chances are "my 5.0 is quicker/faster than your...whatever". It's a silly argument.

There is ALWAYS someone faster.

In the case of SHONUT, _he_ was faster on that occassion. I have a number of "friends" who drive F-bodies. My brother has a '99 Ram-Air T/A. I know how fast they are stock and modified.

Facts:

1) Saying a L will _never_ beat an LS1 F-body is dumb.

2) Saying an L will _always_ beat an LS1 F-body is dumb.

3) Saying "my car is faster than yours" is ... absurd. So what? Why is this a pissing contest now?

4)In your 2 races with L's, you've won. Great! Good for you. If your car runs high-12s then it SHOULD win every single race with a stock, or even slightly modified L. If it doesn't then you should be embarrassed.

Good luck with your LS-1. I, for one, think they're pretty cool.

^5 Wes, you're the man. Good points made. Cracker Jax, hehe you act like you drive a Viper. Ease back and enjoy the hospitality we offer to those who want to post here in a friendly manner so that we can all play nicely and leave the flaming for your esteemed colleagues at the LS1 board, we're too classy for that here. Thanks in advance.

Thanks LightningDammitt. All I really wanted anyone to see is that I didn't use "Mr. Jack Off" (or any other means of self pleasuring) to describe or name anyone. That's not how I operate and that is definately not my style of humor. I really don't care a whole lot about what other people think, but I haven't been here that long and don't want anyone to get the wrong idea about me. Y'all have given me great advice and I don't want anything this menial to jeopardize my standings here.

It just upsets me to no end when this guy rags me about something I never said, implies that I'm immature, and then turns right around (in the same sentence, no doubt) and ends his post with a childish comment. Then, he comes back, (obviously without doing any of the things which I asked him) and starts blasting me again. I just don't get some people.

Jax-
There's really no need for you to apologize to me, now. I see how you are and how you act, and quite frankly, your apology wouldn't mean a whole lot to me. I can't speak for everyone here at f150online when I say this, but man, just go home. Go back to the LS1 board and continue your flame wars there. We don't need your type here.
