Very good question. I don't use the "make better additives" because I use synthetic oil. However as I increase in mileage I do use an occasional can of injector cleaner. I use Berrymans as I believe it is a superior product.
I noticed in in last L that it slowed down and I took it in to have the injectors cleaned. Boy, when I got it back it ran like it was brand new. I was really impressed. Evidently, there cleaning process is much better than the cans of additive available at the autoparts store.
I just put a new can of Berrymans Injector cleaner and octane booster in as I am at 17000 miles. I don't know if it cleans anything but I could definately feel an increase in power from the octane additive. On the can it said "not for cars with o2 sensors or catalitic converters. Why do you suppose it says that as there in no lead in the mixture? I checked.
