Question Sunroof?

May be a stupid question, but has anyone on here ever installed - or heard of someone installing - a sunroof/moonroof on their L? I was just reading a post about a power slider on the rear window, and was wondering if anyone has ever ventured into the sunroof arena....

Thanks for your responses!

Steve

I remember one on ebay a while back that had a power sunroof. When open, the panel angled up and back, somewhat like a spoiler. It looked pretty decent. I don't know how much room it took on the inside, as there were no pics of that.

Hmmmm......

Anybody think that this would be worth looking into (the angled type, not the sliding type)? I'm just looking for something to be a little different from the rest, and still maintain the integrity of the L....

Opinions?

if you want a sunroof it's worth it, if you don't, it's not

Gee, thanks Beef!! LOL

Seriously dude, I was just looking for opinions on this mod... Do you think it would be worth it? Kinda like Lambo doors....Some like them, some don't, but it is the judges' opinion at the car shows that counts...

I think lambo doors are a waste of money, they provide no functional purpose and look goofy on pick up trucks. No offence to those of you who have them, its just my personal opinion.

A sun roof on the other hand, while I dont use the one in my car, still provides some function. I say go for it if you want it, I think it would make the cabin feel a little bit bigger. And in the summer, if you've got the windows down, the rear window open, and the sun roof up, it'd feel like a convertable almost lol.

Please dont laugh at me...

I had heard that the sunroof compromises the
safety integrity of the roof system. But I don't
know the details. Not that any of US would be
thinking of rollover protection or anything.
