Question PermaPlate on New L's

Did any of you go for the Permaplate or Paintguard before delivery of your new L's?

The Permaplate Paintguard is a proprietary protection made by Sisken Enterprises. It's formula or protection coating supposedly bonds with and seals the paint surface creating a durable protective finish against the weather extremes and bad road conditions.

It's suppose to be some sort of profesional paint coating.

I got it and they said I would never have to wax my truck ever. Well, I gotta zaino my truck cause it looks like your everyday truck. But if the paint fades, I got something to hold them against, protected against that, too.

Hi, Tundra

So, do you think it's worth getting the Perma-Plate coating or just do the Zaino thing when I get the truck?

That would be my personal preference under the circumstances. I don't believe that most dealers even have a clue as to how to properly protect, and maintain a beautiful paint finish. The first thing I screamed @ them when going to pick up my vehicle was:

1: "DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING" &

2: "Thanks!"

Dealers use high speed buffers that leave horrible swirl marks. They just don't get it!

My 0.2 cents

I guess it's the old saying "if you want something done right, do it yourself!"

Thanks for the advice!

*Not to mention the high cost of the Perma-Plate coating.

Thumbs up

I got the PermaPlate (interior and exterior) put on my L. My bro and mom both have UltraSeal (basically the same *****) on their Yukons, and have had no problems, yet. Mom's Yukon was a super bright red when she bought it in 96 and still looks the exact same. I chalk it up to the sealer b/c she rarely has time to properly wash or wax her truck. Plus, she never wipes off bird crap or pine tree sap and there are no spots at all in her paint. Again, probably b/c the sealer.

With the sealer, you basically pay $500(+) for a 5 year warranty for your paint and interior. They claim they will go so far as to repaint your entire vehicle &/or replace stained surfaces if needed...I know..I won't believe it until I see it, either.

The way I look at it is all you have to lose is 500-600 dollars.
