Post Mustang GT, and Me...

I was shoppin' with my friends for some 70's clothes for this party tonight... We got some clothes, and decide to head back. Well what do you know, I see a Mustang up ahead and decide to take a detour. Me my friends (2) and a studded tire. I rev as I appraoch the light... He acts as if I was not there. The light goes yellow, I start to get really hiped, since it is my first race against american worthy muscle. Then the light goes green, pedal goes halfway because I lose traction on the white stripes. He does the same, so its about neck and neck. Once we get to the other stripes, I floor it and as we get going faster, I keep pulling away. I saw his car from the corner of my eye throughout his first gear, he experienced 2nd from around my bed - slowly going towards my rear, then third he was in my rear-view. Around 75 my muffler comes off again and the truck roars. 90 approaches fast (in a 35) so I shut down. I agree Mustang GT will lose every time. Oh, that Chad280Z guy, he once said his 1984 280Z ran a 12 sec 1/4, stock with about 180k miles on it. Wonder what he's smokin'.

Sorry, I made a mistake in naming names here,
It was Foster that said a GT will beast a Lightning. But Chad did say his car did 12 something in the quarter. A lot of words went over that one. - Tundra 4/09/00

Not to be a nitpicker, but an '84 model would be a ZX, not a Z. There was a very big difference. I had a '78 280Z (last year of the real Z), which was probably a high 12 second car, but that was after some very serious mods. I believe stock was somewhere around the high 14's.
