turbo pics (rough finished)

Heres some pics as of this morning. Got to drive it for the first time last night. ITs fun to drive even on a very rough tune.

Heres the starter plenum for all the haters. It was black hot coated, and had to be worked on again to tap for the brake booster. This is the only piece thats not going to be on the final kit.

Heres the mock up exhaust before I put a tip on it. Still looking for ideas on the tip.

After the Hotchkis lowering kit. I think it squats in the back. I left the long Chevy lowering shackles on the back, I may have to adjust this some more.

Looks good!

How about a large oval slash-cut tip to full in the body opening?

Why not have the plenum straight forward and then the turbo go straight up into it versus the bends there? Just makes more sense considering a custom plenum was made. Would make it look alot cleaner.

IIRC the angled plenum was designed so the throttle linkage wouldn't have to be modified?

yeah for the tip I would go with that big oval-ish one that a few people on the site are running. Looks awesome by the way!

I believe the "fastest" as of last year has already seen the light. And Id almost bet at the end of this year if hes not the fastest, there will be another turbo truck that is. Unless someone is doing something that I havent seen or heard about yet.

I plan to run daily at least 500 hp on stock block. I say atleast because Im going to have to see how much boost it takes to make that, and decide from there exactly what Im going to run it at for daily driving routines

That is taking shape now and will be interesting to see the numbers on the dyno, but what about all the heat from that massive turbo?

What are you doing about oil / lubrication or are you running a seperate oil system for the turbo, cos that will require good oil capicity and extra cooling for the stock oil system??

Did you consider a twin setup to reduce turbo lag??

Great project though mate, please don't think I am being negative just curious to see the results and your methods.

Well done - keep posted with progress

Staying with the stock oiling system, just had to add some extra oil to feed to turbo from the stock pan.

I considered twins but only for a minute, it was our (people building the setup and my own) intention to make the kit as a true bolt on kit for a stock truck. I dont believe theres anyway you could get twins in without cutting out a lot of things. I think the single will not be bad at all as far as lag. The GT4276 spools just a touch faster than the ptsh76, but Im sure the power either will make will take care of the split seconds the lag takes
