what kind of suspension setup and what hp/tq are you making? it all comes down to how well it's hooking on whatever track you're on. you'll want to run as high as possible without spinning. probably try 16 or 17 lbs to start with and if it hooks keep going up til it spins then back off a .5 or so. I've ran as high as 23lbs in my Hoosier QTPs and no slippage on a good track, 400/472.

oh, you're gonna love the hoosiers

We have a slick track and run as low as 14 psi. Start at 18, go down if it slips, up if it hooks.

I start with 18 PSI and go from there.

On a different note... Do any of you guys know where I can get a rim-screw kit?

Start at 18 and feel it out.
Mark the wheel and tire to make sure the tire is not spinning on the wheel.
The softer you pressure the more squirley it gets at high speed.

Cool 4R100 is better than a C6

I just got done reading the new MMFF article about JL (April 2006 Page 44). I was pretty surprised to read that he actually went faster with the 4R100 Level 10 Transmission than he did with the C6. I know he had spoken of the change a while ago, but I didn't know he had improved his times that much by doing so. It says that his 60' went from a 1.40 to a 1.28 and his ET went from 9.77 to 9.53 just from going back to the 4R100. WOW!!!

Right now i'm putting down 400 and 499trq. that was before the e fan-3.73 and i'm getting the 2.80 upper in two weeks from jdm. I am also going to get the 58" traction bars ( from who yet i do not know) but i should be up and ready with everything by my first run of the season in late march or early april. Al, i no your running about 50 more horse then me ,but are you at 18 psi cause if your and not spinning i'm sure i can go 19-20 psi....... also this year i went with the hoosiers and 16x10 and going with the 58" instead of the lakewoods. I figure i can get into the 1.7 now insted of constant 1.81 with the lakewoods and the mt streets. Don't get me wrong i NEVER spun with the Mt but i think the lakewoods were hurting me in stead of helping my 60.

I actually feel the track conditions and usually drop to 16.

psi

15lbs cool have always worked best for me.

I have full Hoosier race slicks.

When I had QTP's, It didn't matter where I put them because they were terribly inconsistant for me. They were awesome on the street though!!!

I started with 15# on QTP's. After you heat them up the # goes up.
