Wink *sigh* Something bad about the L.

I've discovered something horrible about the L.

Now that I own one, I'll never be able to settle for a normal car ever again. Now if I need a family car, it will have to be like a 94 Impala SS or a Mercedes E55...

Oh well.

Do not dispair. Mercury is making (starting in August) the Mercury Marauder, a full size four door, rear wheel drive just like the Grand Marquis, except it will have an Eaton blower, tuned exhaust, bucket seats and a floor shift. Wow, I can see the post now. "Both of my vehicles are Blown." My wife doesn't need that Mountaineer anyway. The dogs will love the Marauder!!!

Hey Pawn,
You have a pretty close approximation of what an E55 is already. Sizzle aside,E55 is a little softer riding over small bumps and more of a hair trigger response to the gas ped compared to the L, but that's it. Be happy w/o spending the extra dough.

Question

D@mn, Franko, I have been going round and round with Discount Tire, Gorilla, and America's Tire trying to get the Gorilla set for my L. Discount sent me the wrong set, and claims that Gorilla doesn't make a set for the L. Gorilla gives me a part #, 71663F, but I don't think that is the right part because I believe that is a 12x1.75 thread, and Mitch at America's Tire pulled one of my stock lug nuts today and measured it at 14x2. He called Gorilla and they said they didn't make such a nut. So, can you tell me your source and your part # for the Gorillas?

Do you know of anyplace I can find information on the new Mercury Marauder
you are speaking of. I've searched the
net with no success. Expecting my 2000L
to arrive next week and my wife will be
looking a new car this fall. This would
make one hellava stable. Thanks for any
help you can provide.
