More bad luck
Last I checked my intercooler coolant and it seemed a little off, so I marked it off with a marker to make sure it was dropping. Well I drove it hard this week and rechecked it last night, sure enough it lowered about an inch from the original mark. How should I approach this with my dealer? Should I ask for new engine and supercharger? I haven't felt any performance loss or dentonation. I've checked for leaks can't see any. Any and all opinions will be greatly appreciated.
GWERKS,
Bring your beast to the dealership, and tell them that you believe the intercooler below the blower is leaking. Inform them that SVT is aware of the problem. They should also perform the dye test on your SVT to be sure. They will pour in a special dye in the intercooler reservoir that can be traced with a blacklight. My coolant was found in my upper intake, blower etc....If you decide to print any info. I would recommend that you cut, copy , paste to eliminate the signatures. Do not bring them info that has aftermarket componets listed. I think we can all agree with that. If you have a good relationship with your dealer, Just tell them to contact SVT, they know all too well about the problem we are having, and about to have for some of us...hope this helps...

I agree. It went just as Spiro99SVT says. First trip they diagnosed and called SVT. When the new parts (Supercharger, intercooler coil and intake manifold arrived, they scheduled me in for major surgery. Seems fine now.
The intercooler is on a different circuit from the radiator even though it uses the same coolant. The resevoir is on the passenger side, next to the rad.

I'm a bit confused by the Intercooler (not an unusual state for me). When I had my windshield moulding repaired last week, I asked the technician to show me where to check intercooler coolant, and asked what the service interval was. He seemed confused, got another tech, and after both of them searched about (rather frigtening that these clowns work on SVT vehicles), came to the conclusion that the coolant was in a closed system that never needs servicing. Where and how is the coolant level checked? Thanks.

Skydive69,
Either you, the tech or both have got the intercooler coolant and the superchager lubricant mixed up. The intercooler coolant resivor is right up front on the passager side of the engine compartment and is full of green coolant. The supercharger lube is inside the superchager and can be changed but I don't think ford calls for it to be serviced regularly. I think its time to find a new dealer for service!

I can't believe that I missed that monster reservoir! I also can't believe that the techs could not point it out to me in that I very specifically asked for the location of the intercooler reservoir. I notice that mine is quite full - slightly above the top line (warm line) - I hope that is not a problem. If one has to add coolant, is it the same mix as the radiator coolant? Thanks
