Yes you are correct, but your talking about another $100. With the new 2006 Alpine headunits the IPod connects directly to the HU with NO extra hardware to buy. With the older models many people complain about the headunits being slow when scrolling thru large playlists. To me, the best solutions is to actually use the ipod to find songs as it's the fastest. Finding songs on a video IPod is fast and simple. A radio's display is just to small to be scrolling thru 100's of songs in different paylists.
