Question ARE vs Snuglid

I ordered an ARE LSII hood (with wing) for my truck last week, and I was just wondering on its comparison to the snuglid.

I know the tops are different (the snuglig is flat, the ARE is raised slightly in the middle), but I was curious as to the differences in thickness (how high is the ARE lid compared to SnugLid?) and the weight difference...am I going to be shooting my performance in the foot here getting an ARE lid?

Thanks,
Daniel

Daniel, I have the ARE and wing combo. It looks OK, probably does nothing but add some high end drag and give you something to press against to raise the lid. However, I have hauled several loads where that extra few inches really paid off. The SnugLids look really clean and from what I saw on adp's L, they are easier to remove. Either way, it is nice to have everything covered.

Hi pawn,

I went with the Snug Lid because I did not care for the release handle on the center rear face of the ARE. I really don't think you can go wrong with either lid, (top shelf quality both ways), IMHO.

Later, Jake...

Zonaman, do you have a pic of your truck with the wing?
