Thumbs down Man...This SUCKS!

We haven't seen hail around these parts for over a year, but the day after I get my L, there is a hail threat EVERY FREAKIN' NIGHT! Plus, I live in an apartment complex with no covered parking, so I'm screwed. As we speak, my L is sitting all by itself in a parking garage on campus to avoid the weather. Looks like I won't be able to get any sleep tonight. Maybe I'll be able to get there early enough to beat the sorority b's who think that the doors of their BMWs or Four Runners (gifts from daddy) are battering rams to be used on my L. "Like, I'm late to class and am like having a bad hair day. Like, my daddy bought my car for me, so like, his probably did, too. If not, then he's like, trash and I like don't care."

The world would be a better place if all the girls drove F250 duallies and knew how to take care of them.

Hehe yeah because heaven knows there are very few girls who are cool enough to have Lightnings too. Rare breed.

DUCK01,
The Lightning is an omen for bad weather. I live in Phoenix, where there is never any rain (well almost). As soon as I picked up my L, it rained the next morning and has rained on and off since then. And then Friday, mine got pelted with hail. I was freaking out big time as it sat in the parking lot at work in the line of fire. But, I guess as Ford claims, "built Ford tough", the L sustained no damage. Hope the weather gets better for you.

Hey Duck,

Sorry to hear about no covered parking. When I was in college up in Sherman (60mi north of Dallas) my car got hailed on twice.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a winter to speak of here in TX, so we're in for a long storm season...unless summer arrives in early May. I am in a NE Dallas suburb and you get used to bracing for this type of weather once a week.

If you can afford it, a cover for the truck would be a good investment. It will NOT protect against baseball sized hail, but it will keep your truck from looking like someone took a shotgun to it if you get a lot of heavy, pebble-sized hail. It probably won't put one ding in it.

I had one that was water resistant, and was some sort of cotton/nylon material...pretty thick. The ones in the Ford catalogs are pretty thin. They are good protection against sun, but won't do squat in a hail storm.

Just a thought.

Don't worry y'all. My L made it safe and sound. I got up at the butt-crack of dawn today and got it. No damage and only $8 to keep the L under cover and out of the weather. Plus, since I got up so early I decided to make it to my 8am bowling class for a change! The weather is supposed to clear up Tuesday afternoon, so it looks like clear skies before too long.

CA-
I guess girs in Ls aren't that bad. Yhere's just something about a girl in a diesel, though.

PeterB-
I know what you mean. After record droughts last year through February, it has rained non-stop since I got my truck. Oh well, at least the farmers around here are happy.

Question

Bowling? Bowling? What else do you have up there? Underwater basketweaving? Bowling? I didn't have bowling, but I did strike out once in awhile.

What garage are you in, Duck? I have had my truck in the garage the past two days. ( I have a spot) so I didn't have to worry about the weather. It does suck though about the hail.
I had my truck for 3 weeks in january when it hailed on it. I was pissed, but thank goodness it was pea size hail.

Yeah, I'll be the first to admit that we have some pretty cheese-***** kines's. It was either bowling or fencing, so I naturally chose something I halfway know how to do. It just sucks because we can't drink during class. Next semester, I'm gonna try and get into Country & Western dance or mountain biking, but downhill skiing might be fun. (No *****...these are really some options!) Just one of the many perks of going to such a fine institution of higher learning.

Hitman-
Why do you think I'm here...to learn? That's nice and all in theory, but then I'd have to get a job and work, and wouldn't have time to drive my L! Ain't school great? BTW - Don't worry about me having enough *****. I have plenty, and they're well used.

Duck, what parking garage do you park at?
I'd like to get a chance to check out the L.
Lightningdamit has his parked all the time in the NA parking garage. I want to see the engine!!!!!! Sorry, but having the 4.2l and seeing a L is like day and night..

DUCK-

I saw your L. in the garage the other night and was wondering how you could tear yourself apart from it... now I understand. In addition to sorority chicks, be wary of jealous Chevy guys as well. The dude with the '70 Chevelle SS likes to park super-close to mine so that I have trouble getting out.

Fake-
Don't worry about FIDO. He thinks his 95 is fast, but I can probably beat him on my 10 speed. BTW, I was in the back side of the Koldus garage b/c of the weather. 8 bucks to park in a covered garage or 60 bucks to get hail dents out...

CA-
Did I hear FARM TRUCK? Now you're speaking my language! Just tell me one more thing...is it 4 wheel drive?

FIDO-
Good to see you got your ***** squared away and joined us. Is the SS biatch the same one who put the nice note on your truck when Mrs. FIDO was driving it?

If you see a red '95 Lightning in the Koldus parking garage that's mine.So far my list of modificatons include:
K&N Air Filter
Power Pulleys
72mm Throttle Body
Bassani Equal-Length Headers
Bassani Cat-Back Side-Exit Exhaust
Street/Strip Valve Body
1 1/2" Front & 2" Rear Drop
and a Corps sticker
I have to make some money this summer so I can do some more mods. I was pretty happy with it until the '99 and '00s came out.

This is only my third post and your already talking *****! I guess it doesn't surprise me though. Anyway, no, this is a different biacth and mrs. FIDO is not allowed to drive it anymore.

fakefvc-

DUCK is the biggest ***** talker out there and he only got his '00 because he was jealous of mine.
