Hi all. I was talking with a co-worker today. Her family has Ford employees and they always buy new on the A-plan. Anyways, she said her brother purchased a Lightning minus the blower. AND it is a Supercab. More prodding... it's red, extended cab, no blower- just a standard 5.4L, has all the lightning front end/ground effects, has an SVT badge, Asked about the interior, but she hadn't looked inside it yet. She says the dealer claims there were only 3 of these trucks built. This dealer is not a SVT dealer either. Is this maybe a appearence package and the slapped a SVT badge on it. I don't why they would build 3 NEW supercab lightnings w/o a blower and sell onw of them at a non-svt dealer in Ohio. I gotta ask more questions, maybe go drive to see it.

theres a package offered by ChooChoo that is simular looking to a Lightning and they have put SVT badges on them. Not by Ford at all, just a custom truck package by an aftermarket company sold through any old Ford dealer. A Lightning is a Lightning and nothing even close to it.

 

Sounds a little far fetched to me. If ford was going to put everything on it except the blower, it would be a waste in my mind....

When I had my L on order, I was making visits to my dealer. On one of my visits, they had a Roush extra cab F150. Roush had put 18" wheels on it, new front bumper and ground effects package very similar to the L, and they also put an exhaust on it. Other than that, it was a basic F150 extra cab. They were asking like $37K for it and a few days later it was gone.

 

I can assure you that Ford didin't build it. But I'm dying to know who is the dealer, let me know and I'll get to the bottom of it, quickly.

That sounds like a truck Ricart Ford would put together.I talked to other dealerships and they said Ricart makes trucks special and then no one else has parts for them.

If there is a SuperCab SVT Lightning out there it did'nt come from OTP (Ontario Truck Plant) The ONLY plant that builds the regular production Lightning.
P.S. There is TALK of making a Supercharged 5.4 Harley Davidson F-150 Which is a SuperCab. And further rumours of a SuperCrew Harley, but I don't know if a Supercharged 5.4 will be offered.

 

I have not heard of that.... I know of companies who have purchased aftermarket lightning parts and turned a regular truck into a replica...for example the lighting or roush f-150's!! It just isn't a lightning without the blower!!

 

In the Gaithersburg, MD dealership where I bought my "L", they also have a red Roush 150 extended cab all dressed up like Peter B mentioned above. I think it has been on the dealer lot for well over a month. So supercharger.

They also have a similiar Roush F150 ext. cab that is 4X4. It is black. I think it is sold.

The salesman who sold me my "L" told me both trucks are slow. And, the 4X4 is such a dud that he could hardly get it to move out of the parking lot in less than a foot of snow.

Both trucks listed about $37K-38K but dealer was marking them down $4K-5K or more.

Salesman asked me why I was looking at these two trucks when I had an "K".

 

OK I got more info today. From what see said I think it's only a sport model. But see did say it had an SVT badge on it for sure. I hate that crap. I have a 94 Cobra an just kinda laugh when I see a SVT badge on a non-svt mustang. The only people who would be impressed by the SVT badge know better than to think it is a SVT. I also laugh when people say my Cobra is fake cause it doesn't have "the hood or the cobra-in-the-bumper". Gettin off topic here...

I actual saw a ~1985 Camaro with an SVT emblem on it... So funny...
