I bought mine from the local Ford dealer. I beleive it's and Expedition part.
15hrs later and there all smooth once again, thanks lady.

Cap will be filled with urethane by the bodysop where the part sanded thru. They will also urethane the 2 part bumper step together so it looks like the original part I had which was one piece. Insurance won't pay for smoothing of the oem parts so I had to do it myself. At least they pay to have the parts painted.

I still have sanding to do on my Expy console insert and surfboard pod. It's been raining over two months straight here and it just finally cleared up this weekend. I also have new side steps.
This time around I did a much better job than the first round. There will be no bondo used to fill in the gaps. The pieces came out perfectly flat. I think it's because I used low speed electric drills/sanders this time instead air tools. I also did'nt melt the part either from going to fast. Will have to redo the driver's side eventially so it will look as nice at the passenger side.
When I did my first set of side steps I used an obital palm sander. It worked like a champ. I just ground off the ridges with my 4" angle grinder and went at it with the palm sander.
Yup, I used my 6" portal cable orbital for final sanding. Took the ridges off with 36/60 grit 3M sanding discs with my offset Milwakee variable speed drill. Made a huge difference!
