I would think that you could purchase the parts if you wanted to. Another option I have seen is a setup very simular to the L is made by Holley.

 

If I were you I would switch to a centrifical blower for your stang.Unless it`s just a street car

i THINKK THE INTERCOOLER IS VERY HARD TO GET RIGHT NOW AS THE CURRENT PRODUCTION IS GOING TO WARRANTY CLAIMS FOR LEAKING INTERCOOLERS ON THE L. Wait until they have the problem resolved. Mine has started loosing fluid at 16K. Not much about a quart a week but it shouldn;t be loosing any.

Spiro....I've been the centri' route on a 98 Hardtop GT I owned before my current car...Im very happy with the SVO blower, really is an awesome kit for a pre-99GT,gives it the low end kick that it needs and nothing matches that almost OEM look after installation, besides its not for the track, just a street monster .

So the 99' and 00' lightnings have issues with the coolers? Interesting...any other common problems? my brother actually had to change the serpentine belt on monday cuz it developed a terrible squeal on the way home from the dealership.

I havn't heard of TOO many 2000's with Intercooler problems so far...just one or two horror stories.

 

Give it time, mine started leaking at around 8000 miles.....SVT knows they have a problem, hopefully they have corrected it. I go in on Monday for the fix..

 

I checked mine today after it sat for about7 hours. The coolant reservoir for the intercooler was maybe an 1/8" below the cold fill mark. I added about a half bottle of redline water wetter @ 2000 miles. It has just under 25000 now.

Hey guys, Never posted heer before, but my brother just brought home a beautiful oxford white 2000 Lightning last Friday...what an awesome vehicle! The nicest truck I have ever seen hands down, hehe a sports car wrapped in truck body =). Anyway Im a mustang guy myself, and I have an SVO blower on my car, which is somewhat similar to the blower on the lightnings(an eaton compressor and an intake cast together as one piece) anyway Im VERY envious of the intercooler, I push the limits in my car and thus have gone through two motors, I was wondering if anyone knows if the intercooler,resevoir and plumbing could be purchased from an SVT dealer? any ideas as to a ballpark price? my brother is a ford tech so i know I could get a discount through him, but the dealership he works for isnt an SVT dealer.I've had the blower off my car so many times recently Im really intrigued at the thought of fabricating an intercooler for it, perhaps getting a machine shop to port match the lightning cooler if the ports are close enough to my blower and heads, hehe im always tryin to come up with new ideas.... anyway thanks in advance for the info and congrats on the sweet rides, after finally getting to see one up close and ride in one, Im VERY impressed with the lightnings!
