Rear Leaf hanger differences?...Darndest thing?

I'm noticing some differences between the newer and older gen 2 Lightnings. I have a question for guys with all the different years of gen 2 lightnings. I have an '04 and the leaf spring mount closest to the cab of the truck (front spring eye/hanger) has a bolt-hole on the inner side, just below the spring eye. It's pretty large and kindof oblong and does not attatch to anything. It almost looks like you could attatch a small hook to it or something, and it is like an earlobe. It's actually part of the spring hanger, not the frame and it's on both sides of the truck as well. It seems as though the older years of the gen 2 DO NOT have this, am I right?? I don't have any pics so maybe someone knows what I'm talking about??? Its just like an extra hole in the hanger, just below the leaf mounting point. Thanks! BK

nope, this doesn't seem to have anything to do with the parking brake cables, just an extra hole on each side, on the lower part of the leaf spring hanger, up by the exhaust, front of the leaf spring area. Both sides of the truck. I was thinking about using it for mounting a drive-shaft loop or maybe some other suspension parts that we are designing, and I saw a set of stock hangers that were on eBay and they did not have this at all...? Kinda thought it was peculiar is all. We do a lot of fabbing for Lightnings and if I do make anything that bolts to this area I want to be sure that ALL of the trucks have this, and I'm not wasting my time if ya know what I mean...LOL With my luck it's only a 2004 thing. I only have direct access to my personal truck right now to check for differences, etc. Thanks for the help! BK

Pretty sure all years have that. Those holes are where one of the Bassani cat back mounts bolts to, and I've installed them on all years of truck.

Thanks, see how the holes are oblong on the 2004, and not on the 2003? how strange! I wonder what the purpose of these holes are anyway. I have a FEW ideas for them actually, but thats what I do, since I fabricate...LOL
