Has anyone taken the rubber strip that seals the back of the hood off ?? It does make a small opening. Would it help??

I've done the same thing on my '00 Contour and on the R/T i used to have. On the R/T, I added a small block of wood (painted black) to increase the gap. I plan on doing the same on my L when it arrives. Not sure how much effect is has but every little bit helps.
