Smile Lo-Jack/Warranties

I am excited. My L is being produced 4/03/00 and will be at the store approx. 4/24/00.

I haven't a clue what I am doing. I'm 57 getting a new L and feeling like I did back in the 60's when I was young and drag racing my 59' Corvette on the streets.

I'm not sleeping at nights because of the truck. So, I would get up and spend late nights browsing the web when I discovered this site. I love it.

I saw a number of notes regarding Lo-Jack and Warranties. Because I will be one of you shortly, I went to the GM of the Ford dealership to see if he would help L owners with these two products.

He ordered a web page put up for L owners only. So that they would get a great price on both Lo-Jack and a Ford warranty.

I know just how you feel , went thru the same. It will noy only get your blood pressure up but might even get you a ticket or two, only difference is you can now afford to pay them. Its well worth the wait and the payback it 10 times the investment of wait.

Ah well, another way I could have saved $400 off of my L.

But, y'know, I already have it!

Woohoo.

This truck rules.

Goodluck with yours!

Thanks for the info, FS. My dealer, bless his mercenary little heart, would not discount a nickle off of lo-jack. I didn't figure I really needed it, but now that the L. has become my daily driver, for reasons sad to relate, I think it would be a darn good idea. If you ever get up to my neck of the woods, call me, and I'll buy you a sandwich and beer.

I'm 56. I know how you feel. I was smitten by my 93 L.
I was at the dealership looking for something for my wife an Explorer or crown vic. I knew nothing of the Lightning. We had been out on the lot and were walking inside to talk about price. That's when it hit me. This beautiful new RED Lightning looked at me and said hey Noel, I'm what you really want?
The salesman was saying something to my wife and I and I wandered away over to the RED L. Horsepower, torque, speed, RED, did I say Red.
I turned around to the salesman and said forget everything I've said. I want this truck. Put a sold sign on it before someone else buys it.
The salesman looks at my wife and says "Is he going through the CHANGE?" My wife says, "Yea, he's been going through the change for the last twenty years!!!!"

Ain't it great!!!! Ordered a Down's air filter kit today.

My daughter-in-law asked if I was going thru my mid-life because of the L. My sister replied to her: If he were 20, no one would say a thing. The same at 30 and the same at 40. If he was 79, everyone would say, He is cute.
But because he's 50+, he's going thru mid-life, there is a stigman when one hits 50 that should not be.

I'M GOING FOR IT. HURRY "L" AND GET HERE!

You mentioned that there was a cheaper warranty price on F150ONLINE and the price was for $50 deduct and $200 less.

I went to the place you indicated to make sure my dealer was giving a great price for a warranty. The price you indicated was 6/75 for $1175 with a $100 deduct and for a 60/60 $930 with a $100 deduct.

My dealer has it for $850 6/60 and $970 6/75 with a $100 deduct which seem less than your quote.

I am glad to see this. Because I was going to disappointed in my dealer.

FORDSALES,
I can relate to youthful feeling being 50 myself. I tell my wife I have a Red Viagra pill now This Red Beast is the topic of discussion with my golfing buddies every Saturday morning. They all come rolling up in their cush mobiles and I come in the Lightning. The Red Beast gets all the looks and best of all she is mine and I get to drive her. Ain't life grand when you drive a Lightning?

It amazes me when I find out the actual age of some y'all. It just seems to me (a punk-a$$ 21 year old kid) that y'all are all younger. Everyone of you talks "trash" to eachother and plays around like my friends. I love it. I can only hope I have as much fun as y'all when I get that old!

Fordsales-

Don't worry. I'm just giving y'all a hard time. It seems like lately (the past two years), I have been referring to anyone under 50 as young(er)...as in "He's a youner guy, maybe 40-45." I just try and be nice about people's age because I know I too will be there someday.

BTW, waiting on your L definately won't make you any younger. I think my nine month wait took about five years off of my life.

You have to forgive DUCKY. You see, he's an Aggie and they lead a very sheltered life.

Hey FORDSALES -

Congrats on the new arrival-to-be. I'm only a stone's throw away (literally) from HB in Westminster and about halfway between punk-a$$ kid and 50+ year-old youngster

Give me a yell sometime if you wanna compare bolts.
