Question Build Number/Date Question

Yoda's probably gonna run me off the BBS for asking this, but can someone please explain to me how to get the build number/date off of the sticker (if possible)? I did a search but my dumb a$$ can't find the answer.

The last numbers of my VIN are 0628, and some other numbers on the far lower right hand side of the sticker read 002192 03 07 00.

Feel free to grab a crowbar to help me pry my head out of my a$$ so I can figure this out.

I called SVT this week to find out the build number of my expectant L and the told me that they would not have that information until the end of the run. I didn't think that was strange until someone posted on here that on the 23rd of March they built L's between #1950 and #2050. What's up wid that?

I didn't post that the trucks # 1950 - 2050 were built, just the transmissions, which don't relate to actual truck build numbers.
As a reference, we get empty racks back with shipping tags still on them that a day or two old, so OTP takes the tranny's off the rack pretty much the day after they're built, and mates them to an engine then, but I don't know how long a drivetrain waits for the rest of the truck, I'd assume a day or less but it could be weeks, I just don't know.

You can't get the build number off of anything on the truck. At the end of the production run, SVT gets all the Lightning VINs from the plant, and then assigns them build numbers based on when they were built. If you have a 2000, you'll have to wait, probably to around September.

The number in the lower right of the sticker does have the build date, yours is 3/7/99, but I dunno if the date is buck date or "sell" date. For an explanation of these dates see my post on the thread that's trying ot get all of the build numbers/dates compiled. (it might be at NLOC.ORG, so many boards, so little time)

Tech-

I was told by my dealer that my L was scheduled to be built during the week of 3-13, so I'm guessing that 3-7 is the buck date. However, it arrived a week early, so your guess is as good as mine. Looks like I'll have to wait till September.

Question

Hey 00Black, I too have a black 00 on order since 2/25, my dealer says that it should be in around 5/10, but they have a silver one coming in on 4/20, and it is available. I have a dilema, but my question really is why did you decide on the snug-lid? I have not seen any in person here in south florida. I want to put a hard cover on it but don't know wich one.

There are several tonneau covers similar to the Snuglid, I had a Stockland cover on my R/T that looked just like it. IMO, it gives the L a nice seamless look, much cleaner looking that the covers that sit on top of the bed rails. Take a look at

Hope you keep the Black one, although I know how hard it is to wait. I ordered mine late November so it's been a long wait.

Hey RU-

Go to <http://msnhomepages.talkcity.com/HobbyCt/adp01/TruckPics.html> and look at this guy's SnugLid/BedRug. Real sharp.

I don't have time to do it right now, but try doing a search (little button in top right corner) for "SnugTop" or "SnugLid". I don't remember which one gave the best results, but there is a big post on one of them about how strong and well-built the SnugLid is.
