Where to buy Slicks?

I currently have 16x8 A/R outlaws with M/T and am upgrading to Baja's 16x10 and i am looking for a set of Hoosiers 28/10/16..... Also would my curret 28/11.50.16 work with my new rims. I know a wider rim is better but on M/T website they recomend a 16x8 rim only any suggestions? Any discount sites with hoosiers would be appreciated.

No help on where...but to add to your thread (hope you don't mind) What are my options for a 600hp truck with 3.55's? Hoosiers, MT's? Which ones?

I would suggest Hoosiers slicks at least 10 inches wide or if you enter in a class where radials are required then Hoosiers Quick Pros. You might consider screwing tires to your rims with your HP.

I make 759 at the wheels with 3.55s using Hooiser slicks on 28x16x10 Bogarts.

i run 28/11.50/16 Hoosier QTPs on AR Baja 16 x 10s. i get just a little slippage (like .25") on the rims on each run with no tubes, no screws -- i put down 400/472. best place you'll find Hoosiers is a Hoosier distributor/warehouse. i got mine out of Maryland, I believe, shipped to VA. Check hoosiers web site for your closest distributor and call them for pricing.

whip, let's start with whether you need DOT approved tires or slicks. I have really liked the Hoosier Quick Time Pros. I'm sure the 11.50's would do you good with a decent suspension setup. with your 3.55s and 600hp i can't say if you need a 30" tire or not. what do you trap and how many RPM are you willing to turn it?

Discount Tire had the cheapest prices on slicks I could find anywhere, even online. They beat online prices - just print it out and bring it to them. I showed them Summmit's pricing.

Thanks guys... I don't want to go to 30's yet. I haven't run the truck, actually the new motor isn't in it yet...but I am expecting just shy of 600 ponies. I would like a DOT slick since my local friday night track requires street tires. What compound to go with? Is there even optional compounds for DOT slicks? I guess I should check out hoosiers site, eh?

try the hoosier Quick Time Pros. they are slicks with a couple grooves, same compound as their slicks I believe. they're nothing like a drag radial, much softer. i've ran as high of a pressure as 23lbs and not spun on a well prepped track, but i only put down 400/472. Smoke em if ya got em

Go to Hoosiers web page they have a list of distributors. Find the one thats closest to you.

https://www.hoosiertire.com/Drtire.htm

If your track doesn't require DOT tires get the 28.0/10.0-16 slicks on 16x10 wheels

I don't mean to hijack anybodys thred but it is still on topic, Is there any reason why I should be concerned about any drivetrain damage running slicks on my truck?
stock suspension, 400/500 to the wheels.
Thanks!

not much more worries to be concerned with than the fact you're making 400/500. you must have some sort of anti-axle wrap device unless you want to break a driveshaft. With slicks you'll be racing and your tranny will essentially be slamming into each gear (no slippage of tires or minimal)..... so yeah it is harder on the driveline... but no more than anything else you'll want to do. put some DOT legal tires on there and go race some street classes at your local track. no need to go all out "slicks" when you can get the same traction and more class flexibility with a Hoosier QTP or MT ET Street tire. you might want to think about a line lock if you race a lot, as it will save wear and tear on rear brakes and rotors. It's certainly not a necessity though.
