Red face A bad day at Black Rock........

Vent open....

I got bit by the nefarious, blower strangling, motor chugging, fuel pump gremlin today!

I had just stopped at a light and was eyeing the NSX next to me, trying to decide between being a good little boy and having some sushi for lunch when the idle started feeling wierd. The rpm dropped below 500, and it started shuddering like a wet puppy, and then just up and QUIT!

I looked a the gas gauge, knowing I was a little low on fuel, but it still indicated about needle's width above the E mark. Maybe the gauge isn't accurate?! Ok, so I putt-putt through one of the most dangerous intersections on the west side of Houston (intact, thank the Lord!) and barely make it into the gas station on the corner.

I put gas in it, and try to start her up. She starts, but is still running really bad. I give her a couple of minutes to get fuel back in the line and it no workee!

About now I'm wondering: "What the Sam Hill is up w/the fuel pressure?" Microseconds later it dawns on me, and I spend the next 5 minutes cursing (just so I can feel better before I call Ford Roadside Assistance). Fuel pumps is STUPID critters!

Vent closed....

The Wyldman

Talking

And of course we all know that you will have no problems with the dealership and get prompt service because your truck is "stock".

Hopefully you scraped that non-stock www.f150online.com sticker off before it got towed to the dealership.

Wyldman

After reading the board, I've deduced there must be a full moon out there. I hope they took your L to a dealership which will overlook your few "minor" mods and return it quickly so you don't have to experiece withdrawal's like us in the snow belt.

Better Luck

Cool

I wish Andre & I could have been there so we could have proved once and for all that red is faster.

Cool

I don't know if the fuel pump is still in the gas tank, but if it is I hope you cautioned them not to smoke within 100 feet of it when they drain it.
PS. can I have the gas they drain out?

Chuck, Sorry to hear about Beastie's illness. We were wondering what happened to you last night. We'll all keep our fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. We had all four colors represented, and Sixpipes will be posting the first (we think) group shots of all four together at the same time. Runs were fun, but slow. I'll blame it on track/weather conditions, but none of us could get below 14 seconds. Hope you can make it next time.

Thumbs up

Sorry to hear that wyldman..

My fuel pump went out at 2200 miles.. way back when... seems to be a more and more common problem with these beasties..

Did you ever get to run the Hoosiers?? Just wondering..

Brad

Hey Chuck, have you ever had your truck to the dealership with the N2O installed? If so did they notice it & say anthing to you about it?

I stand corrected on the four colors pictures. Can we still claim the first posting of all four colors at night?

Exclamation

OK, Noel, your reign of terror is over, the Queen Black Beast is alive and well! Long live the Queen!

Fuel pump was ok, just blew the fuel line off the fitting inside the tank. The mech said he used a crimp connector on it to make it stay put.

Now what were you saying about red being the fastest? You wanna say that where Beastie can hear you? Speak up, man! She can't hear you, she's a bit DEEF! What was that? I'm listening and I'm not hearing.....
