Things that make you go Hmmmm....

Well I still have my one wheel burnout until I take overdrive off and than It will do a posi burn out....I just drained/ filled rear diff w/ 85/140 lucas oil w/ the ford required friction modifier in it.

The kicker is why would I get a posi lock w/ OD off..Many on this board say it has nothing to do with it.

Any thoughts

It has nothing to do with it! Your clutches may be starting to go in your diff. Its just a clutch pack...no wires what so ever.

With only 9 k miles on my '03 I would sometimes get the one wheel burn out result. Never knew what caused it? I remember just letting off the throttle and hitting it again as fast as possible, the next thing I knew both wheels were burning it up. Go figure that one out?

Sold her at 12 k miles so I never looked into it.

Good Luck at resolving!

I do realize that I more than likely need new clutches installed. I am really wanting to know if anyone else has had the same symptoms!

Is there any opinion on the life expectancy of the clutch pack??
I guess its still working for me at 67K, because both rear tires are bald!

From what I have read it seems it can vary. I know I have directly contributed to the demise of my clutches. But I had a great time doing it

I’m looking to probably change to 4:10s.
At that time, I would like to change the clutch pack regardless of the wear.
Anybody have a price or a part number for them! Thanks

one wheel burnouts

i had an awful time at eh track with one wheel peels. What I learned was when I drove around the water box and backed up......bang, one wheel burnouts all the time. If I drove around the water box and drove almost up to the staging lights, then backed up, it was ok, but people get irritated when you do that. Now i just drive through it, set up my slicks in the box and have NEVER had it happen that way.

My truck on has 20k on it and the only burnout's i've done are at the track. I'm guessing I might have caused some damage every time it happens but I've never had that problem.

try adding less friction modifier, your cluches will wear out faster but they will hook up easer, doing this you might get alittle clutch chatter going around turns, good luck
