For those of you in NE Dallas, Bob Tomes Ford in McKinney has a great service team. If you ever go in, ask for David Pope as your service advisor. Tell him you know me...I am no "big wig", but I have pull there. David is a certified racer and car/truck enthusiast. I treat him right and he treats me right. I've known him for over 6 years and definitely trust him to do the right thing. I've had several repairs to my various vehicles (none on the L yet) and he doesn't ask questions...biggest was a completely nuked T45 trans in my '96 Cobra (which was under warranty, but still he just had them pull it out and ordered me a new one).

I know allot of times we mostly here of all the bad experiences from Ford service so I thought I would post that I had a really good one. First off I took the Lightning in to River Oaks Ford in Calumet City Ill. for what I thought was a leaky power steering hose and the driverside rear lower control arm bolt movement. Found out it was not a power steering hose that was leaking but the pump itself. They put a new pump on and that problem was fixed. On the control arm bolt movement problem I actually talked to the tech about it that worked on my truck and told him what other people were doing to fix it..i.e. star lock washer and welding. When he saw how the bolt had been moving he welded a thick washer on the frame so that the bolt would no longer move and be stationary just like the passenger side. He checked the alignment made a few adjustments and my Lightning was back better than ever. Jeff

Gillingham ford in parma ohio drove all the way from north carolina to get a lightning a plan they did everything on phone and had it waitng on saturday morning.

 

Another good dealership is Champion Ford on Hwy 6 S. near Sugar Land. When the fuel pump gremlin got me, they got the truck in from the wrecker, and ran it straight into the bay and started working on it.

The tech had it diagnosed in about 30 minutes and the parts were ordered. This is on Friday afternoon/evening. The truck was finished and ready to pick up at 10:30 Saturday morning, and it worked perfectly. All done under warranty and no worries!
