lighting motor in an expedition??

lighting motor in an expedition??

Hello everyone

I just want to know if anyone has done this, i ran a search but didnt find anything?

Was thinking about doing it myself with a lighting drivetrain. Any help would appreciated

about a year or so ago i saw a 2wd Expedition with a Lightning swap, rims, bumper, and headlights.. looked pretty nice and it was dropped too.. looked pretty clean.. so to answer your question YES it has been done before..

Ford did one. I think they called it "Thunder".

YES ....now that u say I think i re-call ford doin that. I can't image it being all that tuff seein how the X has the same 5.4 as the lighting change the computer and maybe wirin harness...etc?

unless you already have a donor vehicle, it would be cheaper and easier to just get a blower kit. check out the blower/supercharger section on this sight as there are a few members that have swapped in a Lightning motor into there f-150's.

If you have an Expy with a 5.4L now, just go with the Lightning blower/intercooler swap.
You can do this without changing your computer (or transmission, or fuel pump assembly,,,).

Once you've done the transplant, then you can take it to the next level and put a built engine block and Monster Box tranmission in for the ultimate in power.

Actually I was thinking more on the lines of putting a Lightning motor in a lawn mower - that would rock!
