Just installed my Snuglid the other day. I was informed by my salesperson that it is definitely clear coated, but it does not appear to be. Can anyone verify either way whether snuglids normally are clear coated or not?

When you order the SnugLid, the SnugLid dealer takes down your paint code and it is normally painted at the SnugTop factory. Mine was and it matches perfectly.

Have polished mine - no color appeared on applicator.

They use the factory paint code so I would assume that they are clear coated. How would you tell?

Not sure how to tell. On metallic paint it is very easy to tell clear coat but on non metallic its hard to. I think I will rub a test section with polish and see if the cloth gets any color on it.

 

Peter: Just curious. Does the SnugLid come from the factory painted, or do you have do it on your own? Thanks.

As ADP just mentioned, since no color came off on the rag, then the top is clear coated!
