Proven Method to get chirps from 1-2 and from 2-3, even from 3- OD if you are lucky !
The process is a bit complicated and I havent been able to fully test it yet, but it works well in the simulator.
1) Find frozen lake - Minimum ice thickness 10 inches. Use your own judgement.
2) Use fertilizer spreader to spread 4000 lbs of sand on the surface of the lake.
3) Drive someone else's L on the lake and ease onto the sanded lanes, then Punch it !!
4) You will get wheel spin every time the transmission shifts - Guaranteed.
This process works flawlessly in the simulator - however I am waiting the 100,000 - 500,000 years till the next ice age so I can try this in the real world in Texas.
The point of this topic is that the highways, and most side streets in Dallas are textured concrete. The traction they provide is exceptionally high. The only time I have heard a second gear chirp was one trip down an asphalt side street. I lived in Upstate NY for a few years, up there my L would likley have 10000 miles rather than the 1500 is has now just from wheel spin.

OK.... It sounds like you are saying that this is not possible.... you back it up by saying it didn't happen to you, so it is not possible... hmmmmm....
So... if the only roads I travel are NOT textured due to wear, then I guess NONE of them are... at least using your logic!
Why did you buy the truck in the first place? Probably because you heard good things about it. You trusted people when you bought the truck, why not trust them when they tell you about the performance?
Also... NO-ONE that I know of claimed to get second gear chirp without a chip mod... and even fewer without a filter mod in addition to the chip mod.
The stretch of 610 that I achieved a 2-3 80 mph gear chirp was on a wide sweeping turn...
well worn concrete... on a hot day in Houston.... WHILE changing lanes.... ALL contributing to the chirp.
Don't worry! Invest a little cash, break the truck in properly, get a little lucky... and YOUR truck will get tire chirp too!

Lighten UP !
It was an attempt at HUMOR !!!
Ha ha ha !!
I love the truck and have no concerns about the performance. Myself and other L owners were talking at the track last week and discussed our experiences that in Dallas we get relatively little wheel spin compared to other parts of the country.
Smile it takes less effort than frowning

After re-reading my post, I do see how you might think it was testy...
Didn't mean to be, and no hard feelings intended...
I thought you might be frustrated that yours wouldn't chirp... I did post a smilie face at the end....

Hey I got 2 gear smoke last Sunday when leaving the track. Pulled up to a stop sign and nailed it, Lit them up in first truck shifted into second still smoking the tires. Layed about 100 feet of rubber. Witnessed by Burninout101 and his shotgun rider.
Tach held at 5300 RPM had to let off because of curve in road.
Wanted to get into 3rd!

You could cut a tenth just by leaving the Stogie in the pits. And your right that feeder road was as slick as the track, so slick that it let me do that with ease.
Check out the Mickie Thompson Drag post, trucks running in the 11's and 12.0's and not having tire spin problems?????? Wonder if thats in the 1/8 mile?

I knew a guy who ran his extended his winshield washer fluid lines under his inside trim and to his read tires on his mustang. Filled the Washer Fluid Resiuar up with bleach, so every time he hit the wsaher fluid it would spray bleach on his rear tires (LOTSA SMOKE).
For grins I pulled the rubber snorkel between the fender and the airbox off the other day.
