Worked about 14 hours yesterday installing dynamat under the carpet in the door and around the rear speakers areas. Put Infinity Kappa 3/4" tweeters in the doors and 5x7. Inspired by regcab54. Mine are not as far forward in the trim panels as his, maybe an inch or so further back towards the pull handle. Didn`t care to much for the plastic fab work. Was concerned I would ruin the leather insert.
Put Kappas in the rear ..yeah the ones with the co-axials with the swivel mounted tweeter. I may tape over it , depends on the sound and imaging. Haven`t actually fired it up yet. Need to complete the 8 gauge run to the battery. I`m putting a 60 amp fuse inline about a foot from the battery. The amp I got for a cheap price...OK well it may be a cheap amp. Has a 40 amp fuse on the body. I also need to make the run from the factory head to the amp with the high pass leads. The amp has a gain so I didn`t think I'd need a step down. (4x90 watts RMS into 4 ohms. Should be plenty of power. Does the factory head have a remote turn on lead that can be fixed to the amp or will the amp turn on with a signal. Guess I should read the pamplet. This amp is made in Korea probably subbed out..laugh , from some Japanese firm. Anyway it is a BOSS amp with SRS a sound enhancer, I suppose. It can be turned off if you don`t like the effect. I got this amp for $60.00 at ubid.com ...trying to hold my costs down , Hope it works. If not I guess next time I'll go with a proven unit. Anyone ever use BOSS amps? Any feedback..I can take it. Good or bad. I went with the Infinitys because I have the Overture 1's and 2's at home. I am pleased with their performance.
Will post on acutual sound ...when complete.
The tweeters do swivel somewhat. Looks factory.
Thanks again regcab54.
