Stupid question
Stupid question
How long does oil last? What I mean is, does oil have a shelf life? Does it Go bad? Does it break down?
I just don't know and if I don't ask I will never know.
I bought oil over 9 months ago for my L and never used it do to the truck going into the shop for new motor. Should I use the oil I have at my house or buy new oil? Mobil 5-30 with pureOne filter.
Sorry for such a dumb question.

Ok, Bringing this back up. i was cleaning out some cabinets that my grandfather had full of stuff. I found a 5 Quart jug of 5W20. Grandpa hasn't lived with me in about 5 years. The Jug is full, and sealed. Is it still good?
i dont see why you cant use synthetic oils too like mister said alot of high perf cars come with synthetic now and they do have motor break in oil that you can use before you put the good stuff in
synthetic oil dosnt do anything for heat all it does is lubercate. Regualar motor oil will fight against engine heat and lube at the sametime. I have always heard never to run syntetic oil in a new motor also.
