Collin~ My cd player is only about 3 months old. The 7845, is the same as the 7840, bbe 3 pre-outs, 45x4, blah blah blah. I have never had any problem skipping with the deck and I do drive a bit unslow. It is a great head and looks good too boot.

Hey Peter B,

I have a real nice, almost new, top of the line Sony head unit w/cassette and D-Bass, don't remember the model # off hand, also with a Sony 10 disc changer with D-Bass. I am not using them, so if you or anyone else is interested in them, I'll sell them for a very low price - say $250 + shipping? I think the head unit alone cost me $400.

Brimstone,
Can you find out the model numbers of the head unit and changer and let me know. I'd like to check on the specs and see if it would be of interest to me.

What04,
The flaps I bought for the Vette were just a plain black generic mudflap purchased at Pep Boys. I spent hours cutting the flaps to the inner contour of my fender wells and then drilled into them using the stock fender well screw holes so as not to put any new holes in the Vette. The flaps are barely visible and they do not look bad at all. I know it sounds funny putting mud flaps on a Vette, but here in Arizona alot of our roads do not have alot of the tar compound and as a result there are always little rocks all over the roadway resulting in lower panel chips.

Bggroth,
I'll look into the clear tape. Noticed on your sig the 2 Sno Pro's. Are you a professional racer? If so, are you gonna be in the X-games? How do the 2000 sno pro's run against the 99's (if you've ever raced one). I've got a 99, so just curious about the 2000's.

As you can see in my sig.. I added 2 8 inch bazoka tubs and an 80 watt x2 amp.

The mids and highs are fine out of the factory... just the bass sucked. This fixed everything in my mind. Sounds killer now. Plus I didn't have to modify the L at all. Amp fit under the passenger seat, and the tubs fit between the seat and rear wall on top of the plastic compartments.

* 99.5 Black Lightning (The fastest color I don’t care what Christy Ann Thinks)
* Personal Best ¼ Mile 13.99 @ 97.75 Mph. (Bone stock)
* Ohio Plate SVT2GO
* Waiting on a chip and filter from Sal.. I wanna go faster!
* Factory CD Changer
* Class 3 Towing Hitch
* Factory Tonneau Cover
* 8" Bazooka Tubs
* Kenwood 80 watt *2 amp
* Viper 550 Alarm w/ remort start
* Often found in the bed: 98 Yamaha Banshee/Pro Design Cool head/ Toomey T-5 Chrome Racing Pipes/ Wiseco Power Pistons / Boyesen rad valves

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. 99 Lightning, the best of both worlds!

Question

With putting the subs above the compartments, how do you change your CDs?

PeterB,
Sorry I havn't replied before now did'nt see your post before now. No i'm not in the league of the racers that you see on the x-games, but yes I do race and yes I had a couple of 99 sno-pro's last year. The 2000 sno-pro drives the same as the 99's. The bottom end power is much stronger on the 2000's and they are a lot less sensitive when it comes to jetting and clutching.
