Question

I've now seen two different posts of AIM 2" drop shackles:

SHA-F09700A
SHA-F08286A

Which is what? Do they both fit the Lightning? Does one have 2 sets of holes and the other one set of holes?

The 8286 number is WRONG its for pre 97 trucks. Its the one that the bozo's sent me first. If you look at the other posts you can see a picture of them on my truck. The 9700 number is the one you want. Good luck..

Cool

Have a little patience on these shackles.. They are worth the wait!! I love the truck so much more now, it's crazy.. The correct part is 9700A.

Just remove the top bolt after loosing each bolt. the spring may want to jump upward towards the bed. Jack up the frame and set it on some floor jacks. Use your hydraulic jack to lift the third member. Not to hard. Keep your hands below the sping eye before while you pull the bolt. No liabilities assumed...grin.

I noticed that the top bolt will not clear the frame. do you need to remove the bottom bolt first, to let the spring rise enough to clear the frame?

Yeah, I forgot that is it. Loosen the bottom and top...then remove the bottom. You are right it will not clear the frame unless done this way.

I ordered some DJM 1" or 2" drop Shackles, shipped 2nd day air they were only 45$.
If I don't like them or they give a goofy ride, whats $45, right.
