Arrow To Bore or not to Bore? "Tuners Welcome"

i see some of our tuners using stock bores more and more now, why is that? wouldnt a bigger bore mean more power or would it just mean more cylinder preasure loss resulting in a loss of boost?

im about ready to get my pistons for my build and i want to hear the pros and cons of achieving a build...
thanks guys..

PSP, JDM, JLP, and other tuners, your facts and opinions are welcome...

why bother boring a new block? it leaves room for a rebuild down the road, and i think the power increase from an 0.020" increase in bore would be negligable

Don't these stock blocks have a thin "wall"? I don't know how much you can take out and still expect it to handle 800+ Bhp!!

There is no room to bore a factory block, to the point where you'd get any power from the bore itself. Boring is just done to give a fresh cylinder wall.

We do all of our motors .020 over, even with new blocks. This is because the factory bore barely leaves enough room for my machinist to put his desired finish hone on the block, and still have the proper cylinder wall clearance, when using standard size pistons.
