240000 miles!? wow...you drive a lot...anyway, do you notice any changes in drivability? or is it just the light?

Cool

Had one at 800 miles. None of the situations described in the handbook were applicable. Drove it around for a week, had it reset and no trouble since. (4800 miles now).

It should read 24000 miles. Just spoke to my Friendly Service Manager and he says that check engine and service engine lights are the same thing. He recommends driving it for a few cycles, miles and watching it before bringing it in.
Thanks guys.

Sal, please clarify the deal with the lights ...

My truck has two lights. Check engine goes off when emissions is out of whack.

Service Engine goes off when fuel mixture or PCM probs are detected.

Are other trucks different?

My truck only has 1 light, "Service Engine Soon". It will trip for drivetrain faults detected by the pcm. (emissions or transmission)
The lightning owners manual supplement seem to support this also.

Well, Nathan, if you have two lights, you have a pretty unique truck. There is only one light, and it is related to anything PCM related.

There are two lights. Service Engine Soon and Check Engine. Check Engine is the one you get with emissions problems and gas cap problems. Service Engine is usually the result of a larger failure.

I'd have it looked at.
