It is all your fault!!!

That is right guys/gals every single one of you is to blame! Tim Skelton, Rob, l-menace, Leann, Fast Gator, Ron, Konig, superfords (gone but not forgotten), KBzilla, Shocktherapy, Don..... all of you... I bought a 2000L this weekend!!

After being here for over 2 years and researching for my lightning swap in my 2001 4x4 Supercrew I couldn't stand it any longer and rescued a lightning of my own. She is a 2000 White L with 81K on the clicker now of course some of that is from driving 1000K+ back home with her. Bone stock except for a 90mm MAF and cone filter. The previous owner claims to have never moded her and ran two 13.50 at two different times and dyno'd 348/428. Now This is hearsay but doesn't really matter.

She was filthy. The wife, who so graciously giving up her 02 Stang so that I could own this beast, and I washed, vacuumed, clay bared, scrubbed for hours yesterday and she's finally shaping up. I still need to clay it once more then a good coat of wax. Of which I don't know if she's had in the last few years!! Overall I'm very happy. I've only found one significant scratch on her not counting the rock chips on the ground effects from the tires but that is to be expected.

Now let's talk about the tires he had on her.. 275/60R18's on the rear and 265/60R18's on the front.. can we say holy 4x4 lightning!!! He was trying to get better MPG was his excuse for these unsightly things. I got 17mpg coming back!

Sorry about the pics, it was late and my outdated 1.3 megapixel camera just doesn't compare to the wife's, more pics to come. Yes I'm trailer trash but I don't know how long I'll be here and it's paid for.

First on the list to take car of:
I'd like to put a 80mm MAF back on her with the stock box, anyone has a 80mm MAF they'll let go cheap? I have the stock air box but I don't have the stock MAF. Or will leaving the 90mm MAF have no negative effect without a tune or reflash? I clean the MAF with CONTACT CLEANER correct?

The leather on the steering wheel is worn badly, is there a good fix for this other than replacing the wheel? I searched but didn't find anything. Maybe cutting off the old leather and replacing it with a wheel cover??

Those god awful tires. I'm going to try and find some F1 takeoffs for the time being, rims are in the future so I see no point in buying new.

Lights all the way around to update the look. And with that what are you 99-00 guys doing for fog replacements? The lenses of these were gone. I searched and found a lot of 01+ info but none on the 99-00.

Polish the stock tips if I could every get them off the truck. Is this something I'll have to do on the truck?

01+ upper and lower grilles.

I'm going for the cosmetic update first then performance later. Like most of you I bought all the little bolt-ons with the first powerplant. I'm going to attack this one a little different. Twinscrew

I do have a NX wet kit I'll throw on her for starters. I also plan to pull the SC and clean the intercooler (which has the recall done). Should I replace the oxygen sensors as a tune up or wait until I get a SES light?

Is there anything else I missed?

Does your next door neighbor have a white L as well? Looks that way in the picture. Congrats. I would leave the 90MAF on.

I have read that mid to late 90s Ford Ranger fog lights are the same thing on our SVTLs.?. ANyone comment on that?

Looks like I can fit 87-93 mustang fogs in here. Some like these... Fogs That link might not work but they are ebay # 8033077661
They should go well with the updated heads and corners!

Congrats on the new L!

If you think the desire to buy one was too much?

Wait until the desire to mod sets in!!!
