Post lightning burnouts

Does anybody have any pictures of their big bad lightning doing a bad *** burnout. I want to see brake torques and what happens when you just smash the pedal to the metal. Also i am really thinking about getting a lightning and would like to know how long the truck will smoke its tires and how long they will leane black marks.

Cool

Saving rubber is more difficult than burning it . If I do a 15-20 MPH punch it breaks traction on the downshift and when it grabs again is usually at 50-60MPH. One thing I caught it doin' last nite was at 85 MPH it shifts into third, usually all you hear is the 'charger and the pipes but I had let off right at shift point and what do I hear? Yeah, tires barking at 85MPH on an automatic. Truck amazes me almost everyday.

Here is another burnout photo. This one is Burninout101 (Justen) in his red 99 Lightning. I must say though that the "Wyldman" has the best one to date. Does anyone out there want to try and outdo the Wyldman, he looks like the "burnout champ" right now.

BaBolt,

Thanks for the kudos, but as soon as I can get this worn out set of tires mounted, I'm gonna try and fry 'em down to the rims. With a little luck, beastie won't even be seen in the picture!

Wyldman definitetly has the coolest burnut. Since were on the subject, did anyone see the photos from the burnout contest in the April 2000 issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords ?

What? Tire churp at 85mph? On a truck. I dont believe that, sorry. I would have to be there on that one. Are you sure it was the tires?

CAKA-

I didn't believe it at first, either. However, I read in one of my truck magazines (don't remember which one and I can't dig right now...test tomorrow ) that they heard a "positive chirp between second and third." Sounds crazy, but would you expect anything less from this truck?

Justen,

Why don't we chain the trucks together at the hitch and see who drags who around the parking lot? Hmmmm?

Wink

Caka:

At a 25mph, hit it to the floor and tires are gone till 105/108mph. Of course my L is not stock any more. 4:10's make for a big traction problem, plus all the other stuff.
I'm sure the guys with NOS kits have the same problems

Cool

This past Sunday I was hangin' out the local cruise area and as everyone left the main lot a group of guys were asking everyone "to see if they could make the back tires go faster than the front ones?",or yelling out"light em up!" After seeing f-body after f-body,stang after stang,I figured I'd get in on the act. Now I cheated,I held down the brake, stomped on the gas, held them both for about 8 secs and let of the brake, fish tailed a bit and just watched in awe. The entire parking lot was full of blue smoke! It billowed about 20 feet in the air before disapaiting. I left to a standing ovation. It was awesome, next time I'm bringin' a camera!
Hitman
P.S. I kicked myself on the way home though when I realized I left about 50 bucks worth of rubber across that lot...Oh well, you only live once!
