Question Lightning Bra - Need help

Hi everyone,

I'm moving out to Colorado from California next weekend and I'm going to have to tow the L. I'm a little worried about getting sand-blasted coming through the desert and was thinking that a bra would be better than nothing. Does anyone have any ideas where I can get one quick?

Thanks in advance,
WM

My wife shops a Wal Mart or you could try Victoria's Secret - they deliver to your door.

Recommend more than just a bra however, for fuel stops and such!! j/k

Silver_2000,

it was a new option that came with the LoRider tonneau that I ordered. It was about a $75 option, but it keeps the top of the tonneau smooth without any locks. It looks like it would be pretty simple to put one together. It's just a couple of switches, remote, receiver and relay. Hmmm...maybe it's not that easy to put together. If you already have an alarm that is expandable it shouldn't be too hard, though.

Bra from svt takes 3-5 weeks to get. I just recd mine last week. If you are trailering it, how about saran wrap over front.

Cool

Im up here in CO and was worried about the same thing so I dumped $90 my cost for the regular f150 bra since the dealer listing didnt show the lightning bra =(

Kind of glad though- even though it is functional i think the lightning bra is hideous.

I think the best bet by far is to get the front clear bra'd. Definately worth the money. Im hashing out a deal with our vendor right now to get mine done.

Gimme a hollar when you make it up here to our lovely mountain state!!

Turns out my buddy has pallet wrap, so I guess i'll go that route.

Struck99,

I see you're in Denver or thereabouts, so I'll be looking you up in a couple days.

Keep the rubber side down.

Hi All,

Thanks for the replies.

I called the SVT guy's and they said that there was no way that I'd get it in less than 3 weeks. So I guess I'm SOL on that score. Maybe I'll go with the saran wrap idea. I live close to the port that a ton of cars come into and I always see them with this white plastice sheeting on the hood, does anyone know what that stuff is? I wouldn't mind doing something like the invinca-shield, but I don't think there will be time, this move kind of snuck up on me.

Struck99,
I'll be staying in Littleton, is that anywhere near you?

Thanks again.
WM

WHat si this invisible bra, jsut a paint treatment or what? what all does it exactley do? ive had a cpl FL to michigan trips and i find the ebst thing for a temporary solution is just to wrap the front of your truck in saran wrap (esp if its being tower) do the side mirrors and whatnot its clear ti sticks to the truck and you just peel it off when your done .

Jackal

The invisable bra is made by 3M and is a 7-10 ml thick plastic that glues on to truck and protects against chips bugs ect. Dennis

Hey WM,

One time I used CLEAR contact paper. It went on fine and did save the car from the road debris. It works good in a pinch.
