Question which makes more hp?

looking to add a little more hp since I have my tuning problems fixed now. So, which would I get better results from changing my upper pulley or porting the blower. I am currently running a 6lb lower, chickenears cool-ade, jlp thunder pipe, and diablo dyno tune. Also, whats your thoughts on changing the throttle body and getting a ported plenum. I have heard from others that for what that would cost its not worth the small increase in power you gain...ie: not cost effective. So whats your thoughts? Thanks.

Stage IV ported blower is advertising 40 hp gains. That's probably assuming 6lb. lower and headers. The upper can't even come close.

porting the blower should give you a better hp curve,,,the pulley would give you a higher peak hp

porting upper plenum --> waste of money
C&L intake --> waste of money.
porting TB --> waste of oney.

These are 3 examples of increasing the flow of air when there is NOT a bottleneck. Unless you are flowing a tremendous amount of air through the engine.

A ported blower is the way to go! I saw significant gains.

you'd do better to change the stock exhaust manifolds, than worry about getting air into the engine, your bottleneck is getting air out of the engine.

L-menace is correct. Get yourself a ported blower and some high flow cats.

Thanks! That is exactly the info I needed. I was thinking about changing to the bbk throttlebody though since it is "supposed" to give quicker throttle response and its bigger. Whats your thoughts on it?

If you are looking for hp gains, don't even bother with a throttle body. Throttle response is improved over the stock unit. If you want a throttle body that's flows more than the stock unit then the BBK is the one I recommend. I had a single blade throttle body prior and I think they are junk (with the exception of the billet flow unit). That's why I switched and I wish I just would have went with the BBK to begin with.

I love the cool-aid kit! Granted it wasnt quite as easy as Andy made it out to be to install but nevertheless after it was done I'm all about it! PUtting the nascar tubes on and snaking that pipe that close to the fan blades and pullies is a little unnerving and I still check it everyday to make sure that they arent rubbing b/c they are so close....but so far so good. It is a very tight clearance though. And it looks Awesome! I did get the scoop, I didnt see the point in getting it w/o it. And it doesnt really hang much lower than my front bumper anyway...atleast not enough to be a factor, but then I have always been careful about pulling up to curbs before I had it also. I think its a great mod and definately recommend it!

Hey just noticed where you live. My sister-in-law lives in PC and the wife and I come down there regularly. Might have to look you up next time. We are talking about coming down maybe in the next week or so.

How'd you fit the jlp pipe up to the cool-aid kit? I didn't think it would work with that downward bend to it.

Got any pics with it installed?

QIKSLVR, I wish I wasn't in IRAQ or i'd come out to P/C and meet up with you. My girl and I have friends over there at Tyndal.

Thanks for the feedback on the cool-aide kit. I'm buying that next paycheck. Along with Longtubes, Hi-flow cats, trac-bars, ported blower, 5lb pulley and denso's. Come March I will be modding!

There wasnt an issue with fitting them together. I see what your saying about the downward bend but it all fit perfectly. I can post you a pic of it if someome can tell me how, I havent ever posted one. Or I could e-mail it to you.

ouch that sucks. Well, when you get back look me up, her sister actually lives by Tyndall. Good luck on the mods...you wont regret that cool-ade but it is kind of a pill to put a few parts of it on.

So you have the full cool-aid sytem? If you could, email me any pics you have: sbajza@gmail.com. I thought the JLP tube would change that slight angle the box has to the fender wall and the angle of the nascar tubing coming up into the bottom of the box. But if you got it all to fit, I sure would like to see it. Any pics would be much appreciated!

Thanks QIK!!!
